Asbestos Cement Roofing

Chrysotile / white asbestos was commonly used for roofing as late as the 1990’s.

Professional testing is required to determine if roof sheeting contains asbestos.

We adhere strictly to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, ensuring all asbestos-containing materials are handled and disposed of in the correct manner.

All our teams are Trained ARCA* accredited

When your asbestos roof is past its best, there are three options for you to consider.

Option One:

Roof coating system - 20 year Guarantee.

Providing your roof is in sound condition, an approved coating system can be installed.

Total Surface Encapsulation with Giromax® Roofcoat for Asbestos.

Total surface encapsulation is the safest and most cost-effective solution for asbestos roof issues. Encapsulation means sheets remain undisturbed, eliminating the considerable cost, disruption and stringent controls needed for the safe removal and disposal of the asbestos sheet.

Giromax® Roofcoat system for asbestos cement is the ideal system. The specification calls for the sealing of bolts and minor cracks as standard before encapsulating the sheet with a moisture tolerant coating to provide an enduring flexible, weatherproof solution.

Option Two:

Metal Over-clad roof system.

A metal over-clad roof system consists of a 240mm grid bar and bracket system and 240mm insulation to achieve L2 regulations U-Value of 0.18 W/m2K.

Profiled roof sheets are available in a choice of thicknesses, finishes and colours, there is a product to suit every requirement from all leading suppliers.

All site measured metal closures and flashings included, can be colour coordinated if required.

Option Three:

Strip and re-new.
Dependent on live working environment and activity.

The existing roof is stripped off following strict HSE guidelines. Air monitoring will take place before - during and after by a recognised specialist company for the duration of the project with documentation on completion for your records.

For your new roof, you have two choices.

Choice One: Built-Up-System - 25 year Guarantee.

Bright white metal profiled liner sheet fixed into position with self-drilling fixings into the existing purlins. 240mm grid bar and bracket system and 240mm insulation to achieve L2 regulations U-Value of 0.018W/m

Profiled outer roof sheets are available in a choice of thicknesses, finishes and colours, there is a product to suit every requirement from all leading suppliers.

Where required, a skylight system to be installed to give a CLASS 1 fire rated system.

All site measured metal closures and flashings included, can be colour coordinated if required.

Choice Two: Composite roof panels - 25 year Guarantee.

Composite insulation Roof Panels have a Thermal Conductivity (λ) of 0.018W/m. Roof Panels have a Thermal Transmittance (U-Value), calculated using the method required by the Building Regulations Part L2 (England & Wales), Building Standards Section 6 (Scotland), Part L (Republic of Ireland) and Part F2 (Northern Ireland).

Roof composite panels come in varying thicknesses to comply with current building regulations, bright white liner to the underside and a profiled outer sheet to a colour of your choice.
